Meet Your Program Director: Tim Trevino

The Dutch FC College Pathway Program is led by Tim Trevino, whose extensive experience in soccer and college recruitment makes him uniquely qualified to guide our players through their journey to collegiate soccer.

Playing Career

Tim played Club soccer in Dallas for 8 years and attended Jesuit College Preparatory, playing for their Varsity soccer program. Tim’s senior year, he was offered over $80,000 in scholarships to play soccer at various collegiate levels. He narrowed down his selection to Penn State, Rutgers and Oklahoma City University. Based on the coach of the University and the fact that he wanted to pursue his dream of playing professional soccer, he chose Oklahoma City University. Brian Harvey was the Head Coach of Oklahoma City University. Coach Brian had played professionally in several countries and eventually came to the USA to play in the NASL. Coach Brian’s brother Collin Harvey was the Manager at Everton in England and had won English First Division in 1986 and 1987.
Tim signed his first professional contract his senior year in college for the Dallas Rockets. With Dallas, Tim was the leading goal scorer and made the League All Star Team. He represented the USA in the CONCACAF Champions League in 1992 with Dallas reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament. In 1993, Tim signed with SKP Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic and played in the First Division.

Coaching & Player Development

Tim started coaching at the age of 20 being offered an opportunity to coach the local private Catholic School Bishop McGuinness High School in Oklahoma City. The team reached the State Final and Tim received 4A Coach of the Year and voted All State Coach for the West Team. This experience sparked a love for coaching and after retiring from professional soccer, Tim began his first soccer Club in Plano, Texas.
The philosophy for the Club was simple, create a development ladder for players that takes them from age 5 to 18 and then offer collegiate planning, semi-professional and professional avenues. Allow the players to grow at their own pace with emphasis on giving the players the tools to succeed by creating a curriculum and educating coaches. Through this journey, players can learn life lesson that they can take with them regardless if they pursue a soccer career.

College Recruitment Experience

In 35 years of coaching, Tim has helped hundreds of student athletes continue their soccer careers in college. Providing education for the player and parents and creating a positive environment.

A Father's Journey

As a parent of two collegiate soccer players, Tim brings a unique perspective to the college recruitment process.
Tim’s sons, Sage and Copper, have both received scholarships to play college soccer. Sage is a Junior at Oklahoma City University and Copper is a Freshman at Salem University in West Virginia.
  • Sage received a full scholarship for soccer and Academics. He had a 3.65 GPA at High School graduation. His total scholarship is $52,000 each year. Oklahoma City University is an NAIA school and competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
  • Copper received a $7,500 soccer scholarship. Salem University does not give Academic scholarship until after your Freshman year is complete. Copper currently has a 3.9 GPA and will be eligible for the maximum Academic scholarship. Salem University is an NCAA Division 2 school and competes independently.
  • Grades are very important! The higher the GPA, the more Academic scholarship you are eligible for.
  • Spend each week researching schools and sending out player profile and video link. The time spent doing this will be tremendously beneficial.
  • Learn to communicate through email and on phone calls with Admissions and the college soccer staff. This is one determining factor for coaches looking to commit to players for the next 4 years.
  • Watch the college team’s play that you are interested in. Watch the style of play and how the team trains.
